A long overdue new posting. For those who don't know, last week was perhaps the most frightening week of my life. On Tuesday morning, Marcie was readmitted to Women's College Hospital with what was originally diagnosed as a mild stroke. After a couple of stressful days of not knowing what was going on, we discovered that it was actually post-natal preeclampsia. This is a somewhat rare syndrome that usually affects women during their last ten weeks of pregnancy but sometimes occurs post-delivery. We're all now home and healthy once more and back to the process of growing as a family. For those interested in more information on what we went through, there is an
excellent preeclampsia support site (which I found after I no longer needed it.)
Now on to the happier times. Thanks to Grandma Schwindt, I've been able to secure some pictures of Meghan when she was just hours old. They are below, along with a nice one from her first walk on the Toronto water front.
