We have birds!

It only took two months, but we finally have birds coming to our feeder! As evidence I managed to snap a quick picture...

Team Canada look out!

It's never to early to start on hockey training, right?
Working on the wrist shot...
And of course, the all important goal celebration.

Some Christmas Pics

Christmas #2 for Meghan is now over, and although she's still not entirely familiar with Santa Claus, she's certainly getting a taste for this Christmas thing...
If I keep digging in here, there's gotta be something else, right?
I can't believe I let Mommy dress me like this...

The Grass Is Always Greener ...

Meghan has discovered that food tastes better off someone else's plate.

At least she's sitting down.

Christmas Came Early!

Meghan had a visit from the Sault Ste. Marie Santa Claus last weekend, a full two weeks early! Just before departing with Mommy for a week in the Sault, she got to try out her new bistro set. (Daddy's a bit jealous since he doesn't have anywhere near as nice a barbecue area...)

Hmm, this hot dog doesn't taste quite right...

What can I cook up for you?

Not sure what was in that Manhatten, but I'm feeling mighty relaxed...

Lack of Fashion Sense? Just Like Daddy...

Just a quick post (hopefully Mike sees this and it puts a little smile on his face... Especially after reading his last blog posting.)

I didn't pose her, really! She's been oddly sick the last couple of days with a fever that's run as high as 100.6 and nights that have been full of coughing fits. What's odd about that you might ask? Well this has occurred at the same time as she's had full recovery of her energy level from her last bout with whooping cough, so she is physically sick, but isn't really showing all of the symptoms.

In other news, Meghan has pretty much decided that she's too big for the high chair (not sure that Marcie and I agree yet, but it's fun to watch her try to eat at the table.)

Day Off = Library with Meghan

For the first time in a while I had a Monday off today (Remembrance Day) and as a result was able to accompany Meghan and Marcie on their weekly visit to the library. This was also Meghan's first time out with other kids after her whooping cough diagnosis. She is now feeling much better after her last bout of antibiotics as well as some good nights of sleep aided by her puffer.

Well, at the library, Meghan got to do finger painting, showed off her "patience" and also selected a bunch of new books, CD's and DVD's for this week. She also played with the toys and had lots of fun running around and keeping Mommy and Daddy on the move. (I think I've now fully recovered from the head-butt to the mouth which I thought was going to result in a fat lip for me...)

I did find time to take two pictures...

Who Dunnit? It wasn't me!

Last night I thought up a better title but forgot to write it down. This past Saturday night we attended a Murder Mystery party hosted by Kevin and Shannon. We had so much fun! Below are some of the pictures ...

Erin as the Dutchess

Brian as the accountant

David as the hobo

Jessie as the lush socialite

Final posting from Vegas

Well, tonight we spend our final night in a hotel room. (Tomorrow night we catch a red-eye and in theory will be sleeping on the plane on the way home, I suspect we'll actually be sleeping most of Sunday until Meghan comes home.)

Last night we went up the Eiffel Tower, had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe and then went to see the Cirque du Soleil show Zumanity. The Eiffel Tower was kinda' neat, but we rushed a little in order to make sure we had time to do other things. We were also a little surprised at how many other people were up there at the same time (I suppose we should have known though...) Here's Marcie at the top of the tower.

The meal at the Rainforest Cafe was good, but we had the most disinterested waiter ever! Oh well, I saved some money on the tip anyway... Finally, we went to the Zumanity show, and that was the best part of the week so far. It was an amazing combination of humour, music and the Cirque's special acrobatic abilities. We both loved it and would recommend it to anyone! Our seats were excellent, and although several people around us got hauled into the show, we thankfully were left to watch... The best was a Japanese tourist sitting behind us who was taken up on stage, blindfolded and tied to a target board with balloons all around him. Meanwhile two characters were pretending as though they were going to pop the balloons by throwing knives at them. Once he was blindfolded, a third characters manually placed a knife through the balloons. The poor guy was pretty scared I think, but when he came back to his seat afterwards, he seemed to have recovered. They took him backstage for a while, so I suspect he was probably presented with something nice for his suffering...

Today we drove to the Grand Canyon where we're staying tonight. Along the way, we drove past Lake Mead and over the Hoover Dam. We got here in time to quickly go in and get our first look of the Canyon. Pictures to follow...

Tomorrow, we'll hopefully go for a small hike in or around the canyon, before we head back to Vegas and start to make our way home.

Las Vegas

Our first post from Vegas (I tried one yesterday, but the connection flaked out...)

Marcie and I are having lot's of fun so far, although it's a little busy now that my conference has started in full. We've walked the strip a few times now, and some of the hotel/casino's are absolutely amazing.

Some pictures...

Thanksgiving in Gravenhurst

Following tradition, we celebrated Thanksgiving with David's family in Gravenhurst. As always, the weekend was just wonderful. We truly have a lot to be thankful for.

Proving once again that Meghan is her father's daughter, she insisted on spending every minute
she could outside, regardless of how cold it was. She just was not happy being inside any longer than she needed to be. Special thanks to Great-Aunt Wendy for the gorgeous sweater that kept Meghan warm during the cold stretches of the weekend.

Below are some pictures from the pre-Thanksgiving dinner walk to Pike's peak.

Pike's peak is a large rocky hill overlooking Lake Muldrew. Although Meghan enjoyed the walk to and from, she was a bit unhappy about not being able to explore once she got there. Perhaps this will be her last climb for a couple of years.

Halloween Costume

I know it's still a bit early but we picked up Meghan's halloween costume today. I'm not sure the pictures even do it justice. This has got to be the cutest ever!

Labour Day in Muskoka

Here are a couple pics from our relaxing weekend "up north" ;-)

Blast from the past...

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Schwindt we just received a CD-ROM containing the best 110 pictures that they had taken. We believe this has to be around 1% of the pictures they have of Meghan, and here I present six of the best. These are in no particular order...

Hey, that's a pretty cool blog!

This sure is a nice deck, can I help Daddy?

How does Grandpa walk in these, they're way too big!

Four generations

Mmm... Birthday cake...

These are some monster sunflowers, what do you feed these things Grandpa?
