I Can Feed Myself Mommy!

Being the big girl that she is, Meghan has decided that she no longer needs any help to eat. She prefers to do it herself.

Nice day to go to the park

Today Meghan's friend Lauren came for a visit. It was such a nice sunny day that they went to the park to play on the swings. I'm sure this was a lot more fun than it looked, especially once Mommy put down the camera and pushed instead of taking pictures.

They also had fun playing with Meghan's toys and stomping around upstairs while Daddy was trying to read. Soon, we hope, it'll be warm enough that the two of them will be able to play on the swings without eight layers of clothes!

Let's try this again...

I almost had a posting ready to go a few minutes ago until Meghan decided it would be fun to distract me by pulling all of the books out of our book shelf, and then while I was distracted, turned off the laptop...

However, this weeks picture is of Meghan reorganizing Grandpa Schwindt's CD collection while she was there last weekend.

This weekend her Grandma and Grandpa Walker are visiting, and we'll have to make sure that we have some good pictures for the blog. Last night she came with us to Montana's for dinner where she entertained all the wait staff by craning her neck to watch them as they went by.

In other news, Marcie and I are soon to be a two car family as we're just finalizing the paperwork for leasing a 2006 Hyundai Elantra five-door hatchback. This should make daytime lots of fun as Meghan has taken a real liking for the Waterloo Regional Children's Museum.

Almost forgot to add this, but for those interested, Uncle Mikey is now blogging about his experiences in the woods. Suffice to say it's an interesting read at times.

No Recent Pictures...

We've apparently been rather negligent in our photo taking of late, so some older photos that never made it to the blog before will have to suffice.

This is Meghan in her "popcorn" outfit when we last visited the Sault.

Luckily, she's with Grandma and Grandpa have her this weekend which means there should be lots of new pictures to post in the coming weeks...

Happy Valentines Day!

Meghan showing off her new Valentine's Day outfit courtesy of Grandma W. She also doesn't seem to realize yet that she can stand under her own power for up to five seconds at a time. Perhaps she'll be on skates this winter after all!

Cheering on Team Canada

Meghan cheering on her favourite hockey team and discovering her new favourite player, Meghan Agosta. Canada would win 12-0 over Russia and Agosta would score three goals on her nineteenth birthday. Just another 18 years and four months and perhaps another Meghan will break out with Team Canada...

Long overdue...

Hi all,

If there's anyone actually still watching this after I neglected it so badly. It's been a busy month to say the least... Meghan went to the cottage for Thanksgiving for the first time. She had a great time visiting with Great Grandma Dettmer, Grandma & Grandpa Schwindt, Great Aunt Peggy and Uncle Mikey. The usual hike to Pike's Peak was less than exciting, as the path was overgrown and unfindable (or so I'm told, as I was fighting off a rather unpleasant bout with the flu or something...)

The highlight for Michael and I was that Aunt Peggy had tickets for the Leaf's game that she was looking to pawn off on willing attendees. Oddly enough, Michael and I were more than willing and as such got to attend the October 11th game against Philadelphia. This was a great game, and we had great seats. Most importantly, the Leafs won!

After that, we had a brief week at home before Meghan went to spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa Schwindt while Marcie and I went to Anaheim for a week. I had a conference there and we took advantage of the opportunity to go to Disneyland, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Hollywood and Santa Monica Pier.

This was a great week for both of us, and although the weather wasn't spectacular, it was a much appreciated break. We certainly are fortunate to have parents willing to step in and watch Meghan for an entire week while we get away.

Of course, it sounds like Meghan had a gre
at time with Grandma and Grandpa while we were away and although there's some evidence that she might have worn Grandma out a few times, I gather Grandma and Grandpa had a lot of fun with her too...

Well, that's all for now, I promise to make postings a little more frequently from now on...
