Another First

This past Saturday we took Meghan for her first haircut. It took her almost 3 yrs but she finally managed to grow enough hair to warrant the trip. We went to a place called Cookie Cutters in the north end of Waterloo. It turned out that this place was the Disney World of children's haircuts. While we waited for our turn, Meghan played on the slide and pretend front yard.

When it was her turn, Meghan got to pick her chair. She went right past the airplane and pink Cadillac choosing a green sports car. While her hair was being cut she watched a movie.

Considering that she won't even let me brush her hair on a daily basis, I was quite shocked to see her handle the situation so well. For the most part, she stayed perfectly still for the hairdresser, and complained only when her bangs were combed in front of her face while they were being trimmed.

Then at the end, she was given a balloon and a sucker. Even though it's helium is gone, she still clutches onto that balloon 24 hours a day. We had to pry it out of her sleeping fist in the middle of last night.

All in all a pleasant experience. We're quite happy with the cut and we've made a second appointment for her for the Monday before Michael and Jill's wedding.
