Quiet Time - A New Era

The house was eerily quiet this afternoon. That realization put my mom radar on high alert. Out of habit I immediately searched the house for my normally loud, hyper daughter.

First I checked the obvious places:

 - the bathroom - nope, no clogged toilet or emptied cabinets

- the kitchen - nope, no torn up paper, dried up play dough, or bead collection tossed about

- the living room - nope, no blaring TV, cat terrorizing, 52 card pick-up, or crayon on my walls

Some advice as baseball season approaches...

Meghan here with some words of 5-year old wisdom...

1) As long as it's practical, wear what you want to. What's the worst that could happen?

2) If you're going to swing for the fences, do it with flair.

3) Keep your eye on the ball.

And, most importantly:

4) Never look back. If you do, you can't see, and duck out of the way of, what's coming at you.

Work Paper

Aside from correcting the spelling of June (originally spelt Joon (which is reasonable and well thought out)) no help with reading or writing was needed. This was all her.

April Fool's

Now that Meghan's old enough to understand what's happening, I've had so much fun putting together April Fool's cuisine for her today.

For lunch I sent baby carrot sticks in a resealed Cheetos bag, put a gummy worm in her apple, and disguised a piece of cake as sushi. We had sushi for dinner last weekend and she hated it so it'll be interesting to see if she even tried the cake.

For tonight's dessert, I made spaghetti and meatball cupcakes. The full recipe is here if you'd like to make them yourself. They were fast and simple to make. The real trick will be getting them to Exeter undamaged...
